These Heavy Duty Black and White Bollards are removable (also known as Lift Out Bollards), as standard and are locked firmly into the ground socket by a Padlock (supplied), the ground socket has a top mounted hinged lid to completely cover the access hole when the Post is not in use. These Heavy-Duty Posts are ideal for restricting access, blocking entrances, and protecting roller shutter doors. They can also be used to cordon off pedestrianised areas.
Bollards may be hinged at ground level, allowing them to be folded flat to permit vehicles to drive over them. In such cases they are generally fitted with padlocks at the base, to prevent being lowered without proper authorization.
Removable bollards may be fitted into a permanent metal ground socket, from which they can be removed entirely to allow traffic to pass. A polypropylene ground socket is also available that protects the paving and foundations from damage when the bollard is struck. This design uses a self-locking taper to enable bollards to be easily removed and relocated.
All posts come complete with ground socket and padlock and are supplied with amber reflectors on both sides.
The tops of these posts are fully welded closed, unlike many inferior types out there on the market that are just plastic inserts which are easily removed and therefore allow rubbish to be inserted into the post.
When the post is removed, the socket flap can be padlocked in the closed position thus keeping the socket free from rubbish.

Plating - Zinc plating involves zinc metal being electrodeposited on to components. Zinc plating is passivated to give it corrosion resistance and the zinc plating protects the underlying material further by being sacrificial. Zinc electroplating is a form of electrochemical galvanization. The passivation on zinc plating determines its final colour. A clear passivate is close to a natural zinc finish in terms of appearance but will have considerably better corrosion resistance and appearance over time. Thicknesses of 5µm, 8µm, 12µm and 25µm are common.
A bollard is a sturdy, short, vertical post. The term originally referred to a post on a ship or quay used principally for mooring boats, but is now also used to refer to posts installed to control road traffic and posts designed to prevent ram-raiding and vehicle-ramming attacks.
