Amesbury Town Council – Single Leaf Combination Barrier

The Challenge

Amesbury Town Council needed a secure and practical way to control vehicle access to one of their public spaces. The site had previously faced unauthorised access from travellers, creating safety and maintenance concerns. While the council needed a robust barrier to prevent further incidents, they also wanted something that could be easily operated by all users, including elderly members of the community.

How They Found Us

After looking online for a UK manufacturer of height restriction and combination barriers, Amesbury Town Council discovered Aremco Barriers. They were reassured by our reputation for producing strong, made-to-measure steel barriers designed for long-term performance and ease of use.

Our Solution

We designed, manufactured, and supplied a single leaf combination barrier with a low-level locking system, ensuring it could be opened safely without the need to reach overhead. The barrier was galvanised and powder-coated in RAL 1021 yellow for high visibility and durability. To meet the council’s emergency access requirements, the barrier allows full-width opening when necessary, offering both security and flexibility.

A nudge bar was also fitted by a third-party installer on our behalf, completing the installation and ensuring smooth day-to-day operation for authorised users.

The Outcome

The new barrier has successfully prevented unauthorised vehicle access, restoring safety and control to the site. The low-level locking makes it accessible to everyone, while the sturdy steel design provides lasting protection against damage or misuse. Amesbury Town Council can now manage site access efficiently, with peace of mind that emergency services can still gain entry when required.
