Single-leaf combination barrier with low-level locking supplied to Amesbury Town Council to prevent unauthorised access while ensuring easy use for all.
Amesbury Town Council required a secure and practical way to control vehicle access to a public green space that had suffered from unauthorised traveller encampments. These incidents had caused damage, safety risks, and ongoing maintenance costs.
The Council needed a durable and long-term barrier solution that would prevent future unauthorised access, while also being easy to operate for authorised staff and community users.
After researching UK manufacturers of height restriction and combination barriers, Amesbury Town Council discovered Aremco Barriers.
They were reassured by our reputation for manufacturing strong, made-to-measure steel barriers, designed for ease of use, long-term reliability, and low maintenance — all built in the West Midlands.
Aremco Barriers designed, manufactured, and supplied a single-leaf combination barrier equipped with a low-level locking system, allowing safe operation without the need to reach overhead.
To meet the Council’s requirements for emergency access, the barrier provides full-width opening when required, ensuring the site remains both secure and accessible.
The system was constructed from galvanised steel and powder-coated in RAL 1021 high-visibility yellow for enhanced safety and corrosion resistance.
A nudge bar, fitted by a third-party installer, was also added to complete the installation and ensure smooth day-to-day use.
Since installation, the barrier has completely prevented unauthorised vehicle access, restoring full control and safety to the area.
The low-level locking system has made it accessible to all authorised users, while the sturdy UK-made steel construction ensures long-term durability and resistance against impact or misuse.
Amesbury Town Council can now manage site access confidently, with peace of mind that emergency and maintenance vehicles can still gain entry when required.
