When imported bollards failed to provide the durability required, Dudley Council turned to Aremco Barriers for a bespoke UK-manufactured solution. Precision laser cut, expertly folded and hot-dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461, these custom hexagonal steel bollards were designed to provide exceptional strength, long-term corrosion resistance and a high-quality architectural finish for a busy public environment.
When previously supplied imported bollards repeatedly failed to meet expectations, Dudley Council approached Aremco Barriers to provide a stronger, longer-lasting alternative. The project required a bespoke hexagonal steel bollard that would complement the surrounding environment whilst providing exceptional durability and resistance to everyday wear and tear.
Manufactured entirely in-house at our West Midlands facility, the completed bollards were precision laser cut, expertly folded using our Keytona press brake and hot-dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 to provide many years of reliable service within a busy public environment.
Products installed within public spaces are required to withstand far more than simply adverse weather conditions. Street furniture must provide long-term durability whilst maintaining its appearance despite constant exposure to pedestrians, vehicles and everyday use.
Dudley Council had experienced ongoing issues with previously supplied imported bollards that had failed prematurely and were unable to provide the level of quality and longevity required for a public sector installation.
The Council required a bespoke replacement solution that would not only improve durability but would also maintain the aesthetic appearance of the surrounding area. As the bollards featured a distinctive hexagonal design, manufacturing tolerances and consistency of finish were particularly important considerations throughout the project.
Following discussions regarding the Council's requirements, our fabrication team manufactured a series of bespoke hexagonal steel bollards entirely in-house.
Each bollard was precision laser cut before being expertly folded using our Keytona press brake to achieve the distinctive six-sided profile. By manufacturing every component ourselves, we were able to maintain strict quality control throughout the fabrication process whilst ensuring complete consistency across the entire project.
The finished bollards were then hot-dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461, providing exceptional corrosion resistance and making them ideally suited to demanding external environments.
The completed installation provides Dudley Council with a bespoke UK-manufactured solution designed specifically to provide long-term durability whilst significantly reducing the likelihood of premature replacement or maintenance issues.
Street furniture installed within public spaces must provide both functionality and longevity. Poor-quality products can quickly become costly once maintenance requirements, replacements and operational disruption are taken into consideration.
High-quality steel bollards can help to:
Improve the protection of pedestrians and surrounding infrastructure.
Enhance the appearance of public spaces and commercial developments.
Reduce ongoing maintenance and replacement costs.
Provide long-term resistance against corrosion and everyday wear.
Maintain consistent quality and appearance across larger projects.
Deliver reliable performance in demanding external environments.
For local authorities and commercial developments alike, investing in quality products from the outset can provide significant long-term savings.
