For most public and private car parks, the standard clearance height is 2.0 – 2.2 metres — ideal for cars, SUVs, and small vans, but low enough to block high-roof commercial vehicles, HGVs, and caravans.
If your site requires occasional access for taller vehicles (e.g. delivery lorries, maintenance vans or emergency services), consider an adjustable or swing-opening height-restriction barrier. This allows you to lock the barrier in place for daily use, but open it safely when authorised access is needed.
