Aremco Manufactures 33 Bespoke Removable Bollards for an RAF Base
Aremco Barriers has manufactured 33 removable steel bollards for an RAF base, adapting our standard design to meet the customer’s requirements.
The order combined a bespoke brown finish with white banding and reflectors, alongside requested modifications to the ground sockets. Manufactured at our West Midlands premises, the bollards were supplied for installation by others.

A Bespoke Finish for a Specific Requirement
Our standard removable bollards are finished in black with white banding and reflectors. For this order, the customer specified brown bollards with white banding and reflectors, giving the posts a different appearance while retaining contrasting markings.
The project demonstrates how a familiar product can be adapted to a site’s specification. Customers do not always need an entirely new design; changes to the finish or individual components can help an existing product meet their requirements.
Ground Sockets Adapted to the Customer’s Specification
Alongside the colour change, the customer requested the removal of certain features from our standard ground sockets.
As the manufacturer, we were able to incorporate these changes during production. This allowed the bollards and sockets to be manufactured together to the agreed specification.
The RAF base is not named in this article, and site-specific details have been omitted.
Why Choose Removable Steel Bollards?
Removable bollards offer a practical way to restrict vehicle access while allowing an entrance or route to be opened when required.
Unlike a fixed post, a removable bollard can be lifted out of its ground socket and stored separately. When access needs to be restricted again, the post is returned to its socket and secured.
