Galvanised & Powder-Coated Steel Swing Gates Manufactured in the UK

Heavy-duty galvanised and powder-coated steel swing gates manufactured in the UK for secure vehicle access across commercial, industrial and public-sector sites.

Combining hot-dip galvanising with a powder-coated finish, these gates provide enhanced corrosion protection together with a high-quality coloured appearance. This duplex finish makes them particularly suitable for demanding outdoor environments where both long-term durability and appearance are important.

Manufactured at our West Midlands facility, our fully welded manual swing gates are available with 3m, 4m, 5m and 6m clear openings, measured between the inside faces of the posts. Bespoke widths, heights and alternative steel section sizes can also be manufactured to suit individual project requirements.

Gates are supplied with root-fixed posts as standard, with bolt-down options available on request. A choice of RAL powder-coat colours is available to suit individual site requirements, corporate branding or surrounding infrastructure.

Nationwide delivery and professional installation are also available.

Why Choose a Galvanised & Powder-Coated Finish?

A galvanised and powder-coated finish, often referred to as a duplex coating system, combines two different forms of protection for the steel.

The gate is first hot-dip galvanised, providing a protective zinc coating to the steel. A powder-coated finish is then applied over the galvanised surface, providing an additional protective layer together with the customer's chosen RAL colour.

This combination is particularly suitable for outdoor gates where long-term corrosion protection, durability and appearance are all important.

Benefits of a Duplex Finish

Enhanced Corrosion Protection – Hot-dip galvanising protects the underlying steel, while the powder-coated finish provides an additional protective layer.

Choice of RAL Colours – The powder-coated finish can be selected in a range of RAL colours to suit individual site requirements, existing infrastructure or corporate branding.

Professional Appearance – Provides the durability of a galvanised gate with the clean, coloured appearance of a powder-coated finish.

Suitable for Demanding Outdoor Environments – An excellent choice for commercial, industrial, public-sector and infrastructure sites exposed to the British weather.

Long-Term Solution – Combining galvanising and powder coating provides a robust finish intended for long-term outdoor use.

Technical Specifications & Construction

Need a bespoke galvanised & powder-coated swing gate? As a UK manufacturer, we can manufacture swing gates in bespoke widths and heights, as well as using alternative steel section sizes to suit individual project requirements. This product is supplied with root-fixed posts as standard, with bolt-down options available on request.

Gate Safety in Real-World Conditions – Why Design Matters

Large manual swing gates need to be correctly specified, installed and secured to provide safe and reliable operation throughout their working life. The weight and size of a gate leaf, together with wind and other environmental conditions, can place significant forces on the gate, hinges and supporting posts.

Our galvanised and powder-coated swing gates are manufactured from robust steel sections and fitted with heavy-duty components designed for regular outdoor operation. Correct installation and ongoing inspection are equally important in maintaining safe operation over the life of the gate.

Real-World Example

The example shown demonstrates what can happen when a manual swing gate is not adequately secured. In exposed or windy conditions, an unsecured gate leaf can move unexpectedly and create a serious hazard to vehicles and people.

This highlights why a swing gate should be correctly installed and have suitable means of securing it in both the open and closed positions.

Key Safety Considerations

Secure Supporting Posts – Posts should be correctly installed and suitable for the size and weight of the gate.

Correct Gate Alignment – Proper alignment helps ensure smooth operation and reduces unnecessary loading on hinges and components.

Secure Open & Closed Positions – The gate should have suitable means of preventing uncontrolled movement when open or closed.

Wind & Site Conditions – Exposure and local site conditions should be considered when specifying and installing a large swing gate.

Safety Restrainers – Our swing gates are fitted with safety restrainers to BS EN 12604:2017 as standard, providing an additional safety measure in the unlikely event of hinge failure.

Routine Inspection – Hinges, fixings, locking arrangements and safety components should be inspected periodically as part of normal gate maintenance.

Correct gate specification, professional installation and regular maintenance all play an important part in maintaining safe and reliable operation.

How Aremco Swing Gates Are Designed for Reliable Operation

Our galvanised and powder-coated swing gates are manufactured with strength, safety and long-term outdoor use in mind. From the steel sections used in manufacture to the hinges, locking arrangements and safety components, each element is selected to provide a robust manual access-control solution.

The combination of heavy-duty construction and a duplex galvanised and powder-coated finish makes these gates particularly suitable for sites requiring both reliable operation and enhanced protection from the elements.

Key Design Features

Heavy-Duty Steel Construction – Fully welded steel construction provides strength and rigidity for demanding commercial and industrial applications.

Robust Hanging Posts – Substantial steel hanging posts provide a secure foundation for the gate and help maintain correct alignment during operation.

Heavy-Duty Hinges – Designed to support the weight of the gate leaf while allowing smooth manual opening and closing.

Secure Open & Closed Positions – Suitable locking and securing arrangements help prevent unwanted gate movement when either open or closed.

Safety Restrainers to BS EN 12604:2017 – Fitted as standard as an additional safety measure in the unlikely event of hinge failure.

Duplex Protective Finish – Hot-dip galvanising followed by powder coating provides enhanced corrosion protection together with a coloured finish.

Bespoke Manufacturing Available – Different widths, heights and alternative steel section sizes can be manufactured to suit individual site requirements.

Because we manufacture our swing gates in-house, we're not limited to standard catalogue sizes. If your site requires a different gate specification, contact us with your dimensions and requirements and we'll discuss the available options.

Choosing the Right Galvanised & Powder-Coated Swing Gate

Choosing the correct swing gate depends on the width of the entrance, how the gate will be used, the site conditions and the level of finish required. Our standard galvanised and powder-coated swing gates are available in a range of clear opening widths, with bespoke manufacturing available where a standard size isn't suitable.

Selecting the Right Width

All gate widths shown refer to the clear opening measured from the inside face of one post to the inside face of the opposite post.

Choosing Your RAL Colour

The powder-coated finish can be supplied in a range of RAL colours to suit individual site requirements. Colour can be selected to complement existing fencing, street furniture, buildings or corporate branding, or to provide greater visibility where required.

If you require a specific RAL colour, please specify this when requesting your quotation.

Standard or Bespoke?

If one of our standard sizes doesn't suit your entrance, we can manufacture a bespoke swing gate to meet your requirements. As we manufacture our gates in-house, we can accommodate different widths, heights and alternative steel section sizes where required.

Not sure which gate specification you need? Contact our team with your opening dimensions, site requirements and preferred finish and we'll help you determine the most suitable option.

Common Applications for Galvanised & Powder-Coated Swing Gates

Galvanised and powder-coated swing gates are particularly suited to locations where long-term outdoor protection and appearance are both important. The duplex finish makes them a strong choice for demanding commercial, industrial and public-sector environments while allowing the gate colour to complement the surrounding site.✔ Industrial Estates & Factories – Robust vehicle access control for entrances, yards and restricted operational areas.

Commercial Premises & Business Parks – A durable and professional-looking solution for controlling vehicle access.

Schools & Educational Sites – Suitable for staff entrances, service access points and restricted areas where appearance and visibility may also be important.

Car Parks – Control access to private, staff and restricted parking areas.

Warehouses & Distribution Centres – Suitable for busy service yards and operational areas requiring dependable manual access control.

Utility & Infrastructure Sites – The duplex finish makes these gates particularly suitable for exposed outdoor locations where enhanced corrosion protection is desirable.

Private Roads & Developments – Provides controlled vehicle access while allowing the gate colour to complement surrounding fencing, buildings or street furniture.

Professional Installation Available

Correct installation is essential to ensure your galvanised and powder-coated swing gate operates safely, smoothly and reliably throughout its working life.

Our swing gates are supplied with root-fixed posts as standard, designed to be securely concreted into the ground. Bolt-down post options are also available on request where suitable for the application.

Professional installation can be arranged through our trusted installation partners, providing customers with the option of a complete supply and installation service.

Alternatively, gates can be supplied for installation by your own contractor or site team.

Before Installation

Before ordering, we recommend checking the required clear opening between the inside faces of the posts, available installation depth, ground conditions and sufficient space for the gate leaf to open safely.

Consideration should also be given to the position in which the gate will be secured when open, particularly on exposed sites where wind loading may affect a large gate leaf.

If you're unsure about any of these requirements, contact our team before ordering and we'll be happy to discuss your application.
